SD Emergency App Reviews

During recent fires in North County I found this app an INCREDIBLE source of up to the minute information. Provided maps showing exactly where the fires were, as well as UP TO THE MINUTE official detailed information on the fires, evacuations, shelters, etc. As I was away during these fires, I was scratching for info on the internet until a neighbor told me about this app. It became my primary source for information. Absolutely surpassed everything!!! Easy to use, continually updated with LATEST info. Nothing is perfect, but I cannot find any fault. In short, a MUST have. Someone has done a wonderful job!

Can not count on this app to get current information concerning any emergency. The information is at least a day old. Although you might get a push notification of something, you can not find the notification in the app itself. Do not bother. Go to the local news apps for better and more current information.

I give the County credit for getting this app developed in the first place. I have it installed on both my iPad and iPhone. However after the last firestorm there were alerts that made it to my iphone, but not my iPad. It also happened the other way around. I also found the alerts to be hours after the event, while Twitter kept me more informed.

We dont have many natural disasters in San Diego, but this app was very helpful during the north county fires last year. What a great resource.

The app seems to be rather good for giving notifications. However, the general interface need some improvements.
