Great app

Excellent app! Suggest everybody gets this app its very informative.

Very Useful

This app is very helpful. Love it !

This app has helped a ton!

Living in areas where fires are constant year-round, this app helps keep me informed first about whats going on and how best to evacuate if necessary like weve had to many times over the last several years. I also love knowing that my husband and kids have access to our emergency plan on here should we get separated or anything. Great tool all around. :)

Works well with iOS 5

This apps is pretty smooth, no crashes yet. Wheres my tent?

Alerted me about fire, map of fire wont load

The map located within the app will show for a second and then will go to white screen before showing the boundary of the fire. Meanwhile the links in the article that show maps tell me I need a subscription to ARCgis to view them. Please get this sorted guys!

Excellent APP!

Im glad we have this tool especially with recent fires in rancho Santa Fe. Keep up good work!

Not very good

I get an alert but the app will not open so I have no clue what the emergency us.

Fire updates

Very useful in alerting to recent fires in San Diego county, but the alerts did not stream in the news section so there was no record if you wanted to re read. Please see if u can stream alerts in "latest news" section.

Fire in your pants

Its a very good app and nice to have push notifications about fires in the area. Only problem is that access to alerts is fairly liberal resulting in a warning for the Bernardo fire May 13, 2014 had a note indicating "Fire in your pants." Unsure if the alert was a hacking event or someone granted access decided to play a joke. Pretty innocuous I suppose, but we want to be sure were receiving accurate information so perhaps access to providing info for alerts should be a bit more restricted.

Useless

Numerous malfunctions that prevented the app from providing any data at all have apparently been fixed; however, the apps still unreliable for emergency news: Im in the midst of the "Bernardo Fire" in San Diego, CA. Running SDEmergency on my iPhone delivers dated, but relevant news (As of 9:45am PDT, the latest news update is from 8:43pm the night before!). Running SDEmergency on my iPad 3 (which has Cellular and GPS) shows none of the recent news on this fire. Why the discrepancy? Unclear. There appear to be no "settings" that I can adjust in the app, but Ive granted apps on both platforms access to all iDevice features (GPS, etc.). Frankly, I dont trust this app as any sort of emergency update or news tool, and thats a shame, as we desperately need such a tool in the "land of fire."

DONT rely on this app in an emergency

The true test - the wildfire was burning and I needed to know if my kids and house were safe, and this app was utterly useless. Dangerous in fact, if you are relying in it. The notices were all hours late. Sign up for reverse 911, Twitter, Facebook, Local News...Poway School District had great information system.

Not very good in real test

Theres three fires burning Im SD county today and the last update is from yesterday. The map shows an icon for the fire(s) but no real useful information. Needs work.

Useless

I used to rely on this app but now its useless. Random notifications come in on my banner, but dont show in the app.

Neat but nonfunctional

Neat concept but the map rarely displays data. If I go to the shelter map, then the emergency map, sometimes the fires will show up. Sorry - pretty worthless. The website is actually useful. Commentary - Surprise: another govt product that doesnt work.

Useless

Amidst this Bernardo fire, the apps map doesnt show anything. It has a link to twitter feeds that prompt you to download the twitter app, and state those feeds are not active. The only reason I gave it two stars, is because it has the announcement feed from the website. Nothing else seems to work.

Worthless

I downloaded this app thinking it would keep me informed about the recent fires, especially since I had one near me, WRONG! It didnt even tell me about the fire until it was already extinguished. I rarely get any updates until hours after its been released on the news or posted on Facebook and 90% of the time the emergency map doesnt even show where the fires are or where any emergencies are. Its worthless, I suggests you fix the app, some people dont have cable or tv access and rely on their phone to get information.

FABtastic!

Really helping to keep me up to date with the fires. Love all the info and real time updates. Also the numbers to shelters, volunteer programs and more.

Not updating

Last update showing is almost 24 hours old!!! Useless in emergency!

Useless for sharing emergency plans.

This app is cryptic, my sister sent me her emergency plan so I would know what she would do in an emergency. I have no way to easily view it since it sends me special format that only opens in this app. I have yet to see where it opened too. Also when you import someone elses plan it overwrites your own plan. They need to fix this to make more sense. It should export as a text document or PDF not a special format and I should be able to have multiple on file my own and others. About to be deleted.

This app was great during the recent fires!

This app provided faster up to date information than Nixle, was accurate, and didnt have any bugs. Good job San Diego.
